Ocean City Boardwalk

Ah, the boardwalk. It may be September but the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland is still busy. Who can resist this boardwalk view any time of year? The ocean is just beyond. You can almost smell the fries, funnel cakes, and other edible boardwalk fare. You can almost feel the buzz of the beach - ocean, games, rides, food stands, and people relaxing. The day stretched out before you. I want to be there too.

This cam is located at the lower part of the boardwalk. A time and date stamp is provided. The images are refreshed on a very short cycle, which means you can easily enjoy viewing an everychanging sea of people drifting up and down the boardwalk. This is where the games, rides, and beach eats can be found in abundance. Have fun!

UCLA's Telescope Dome

The UCLA Department of Physics and Astronomy provides this webcam image from atop a 150-foot tower. It provides a view of the Mount Wilson Observatory, Mt. Wilson, California and the mountains beyond. The camera looks northeast towards 100-Inch telescope dome. The picture is refreshed every 4 minutes day and night. A time and date stamp is provided.

Peaceful Pecos River

Carlsbad, New Mexico is the home of this Pecos River cam. It always looks like a beautiful place to hang out and maybe bring the kids. This cam is almost real time. More Pecos River views and local weather conditions direct from this New Mexico backyard are also provided.

This live view of Yosemite Valley is provided by a non-profit park group, the Yosemite Association. The view is exquisite - like a breath of mountain air. Local weather information is provided to give some context and there is a date and time stamp on the image. Additionally, timelapse webcam movies and a Yosemite webcam archive are available.

Peaceful Garden

Emil's Garden is a restful cam stop. This peaceful garden in Heerhugowaard in the Netherlands provides a lovely view of a porch and garden. I love this backyard view - it's very cozy There are cats - 3 of them - but I have never seen them in the garden when I've stopped by. There is an however, an archive of cat photos if you must have proof of their existence. You can also see the garden in 3-D if you have some 3-D glasses at hand. You may also leave a brief message for Emil when you stop by.

University Bikes

If you like biking then this is the cam for you. The University Bicycles cam shows a bike shop that's often bustling. The cam provides a nice clear shot across the shop and refreshes every 60 seconds. It also provides links to an outside cam that looks along Pearl Street and a lovely mountain view cam.

What About Bob?

Have you every heard of Lake Winnipesaukee? I have because it's the lake that Bob Wiley (played by Bill Murray), the neurotic patient newly acquired by Dr. Leo Marvin (played by Richard Dreyfuss), has to travel to in order to track down his vacationing shrink in the movie - What About Bob? It's a favorite movie in our family and it is fun to see some images from this location.

I've been visiting this Wiers Channel cam for quite a while without realizing it had anything to do with beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee. The cam looks over the channel of water that connects Lake Winnipesaukee to Paugus Bay. From here you can get a view of the marina, a drive-in theater, and majestic mountains including the Sandwich Range. The view from these cottages is amazing. Just how charming can a vacation setting get? Proctor's Lakehouse Cottages have been around for 1/2 a century according to the brief history provided on their website and it looks like a quaint vacation getaway. Both cameras - Proctor's Lakehouse Cottages and WIer's Channel Cam provide a nice clear image, have excellent scenery to focus on, and provide a rapid change of images that makes these cameras fun to tune into everytime I've visited.

Baltimore Barbershop

Need a haircut? Toby's barbershop in Baltimore, Maryland has 2 cams live daily from 0900 to 1900 Eastern Time and weekends from 1000 to 1400. Camera 1 gives a great view of haircutters, haircuttees, and the traffic in and out the front door of the shop. For a closer view of the chairs try Toby's Cam 2. Panorama in Arizona

Big sky, clouds shadowing the mountains, and campus buildings in the foreground - this panoramic view from the computer science department at the University of Arizona in Tucson is spectacular. The view looks north over the campus and towards the Santa Catalina Mountains from a window in the Gould-Simpson building. The temperature indicator in the corner of the shot is a nice addition to the date/time info provided. The image is refreshing every 3 minutes and the view is often breathtaking - day and evening.
